Paria Valley I

$69.00

This work is part of an ongoing original series I call “Travel Art”. I love to take along a small art kit whenever I travel. Each piece in this series has it’s own story. It may have been created at 30,000 feet, in a quiet corner of an airport during a layover, or on a café table in Mexico. The story of this work is affixed to the back of the frame and is as follows: In the Paria Valley between Kanab, Utah and Page, Arizona, there is a lovely little home that sits at the base of a single butte. It was at a handmade table in this home where this art was created. Earlier that day we had visited the stark red-rock beauty of Lake Powell, shrunk from years of severe drought, walking on lake bottom not exposed since the 1960s. With a background of snoring from my black lab Emmy, my hands worked as I chatted with my family. It was Christmas Eve, 2022.

Created primarily of collage papers and acrylic paint, this mixed media art is approximately 4” x 6”. It is framed in an 8" x 10" black metal frame with a 1 3/8" depth. Free shipping. Scroll down to see a video of the work.
